The Songwriter Series II is one of the most affordable, best sounding solid top acoustic guitars available. This guitar features a solid Sitka spruce top that's perfect for a wide range of tones and arguably keeps sounding better with age. The jumbo model has a larger lower bout that increases the warmth of the bass while also accentuating the mid-range frequencies for an excellent, even tone. This guitar comes with mahogany back and sides, mahogany neck, herringbone body binding and a herringbone rosette.

Affordable functional Jumbo

I am very pleased by the quality of this instrument: attractive mahogany body (probably laminated) and a solid spruce X-braced top with nicely tapered and scalloped tone-bars. "Herring-bone" trim is classy. The workmanship is clean, tight, no flaws evident. Slender C-shaped neck needed mild tweaking of tension rod; I replaced drop-in plastic bridge saddle with a tusq, setup nut/saddle for very acceptable action. This jumbo's sound is certainly louder than my D28, pleasantly rumbly and shows well in mid-range tones, has a similarity to the Gibson J200 lows but with milder (mahogany?) dry sound. I really like this guitar: for fingerpicking, its responsive to light bare-finger picking, with heavier ragtime thumping it remains crisp & projects well. IMHO, its the best crafted Chinese guitar I've seen, an amazing value.
