Modeled after American designs from the early 20th century, The Loar's new archtop guitar is carved from select, graduated woods for unparalleled acoustic projection. The Loar Carved Archtop (LH-300-VS) is a replica of the original archtop acoustic guitars from the 1920's. This guitar features a top carved from graduated spruce, and traditional maple back and sides. The LH-300 also features a vintage tobacco sunburst finish of polyurethane lacquer, a mahogany neck with vintage “V” profile, Grover tuners and a compensated adjustable ebony bridge. With its exceptionally loud tone, carved body and vintage design, we've built a great-sounding guitar that jazz players and archtop enthusiasts will love.

not bad but.......

The guitar is everything stated, as it looks and plays well. But, the finish work on the neck is not good. There is glue squeeze out on the neck joint that was simply finished over as well as sawdust and debris on the underside of the fingerboard where it extends over the body. These could have been avoided with a few minutes work with a damp coth and sandpaper prior to finishing. That said, this is still a great value in the world of archtop guitars, and with a little more attention to detail at the factory, it could be amazing.

The guitar was exactly what I wanted, I am a novice and wanted an archtop, this fit my bill perfectly. The greater issue is the excellent customer service from Amazon. There was minor damage to the head, I contacted Amazon Customer service and the issue was immediately taken care of. I was offered three choices of taking care of the issue, I chose to keep the item with the minor imperfection at a discount.
