This guitar features a solid Engelmann spruce top, mahogany back and sides, fully scalloped forward-x bracing and a mahogany neck. Series I models have a Recording King "damask" pattern M.O.P. headstock inlay and abalone snowflake position markers. The traditioanl features on this guitar include a vintage-style beveled pickguard and classic butterbean tuners. Available in a variety of body shapes and finishes, this guitar has the look and sound of a true classic.

This guitar is a great bargain. Was looking to try a 000 size, and Recording King came up as a good name. They build everything from low priced to high end instruments. This one built in China, but fit and finish are almost flawless. It took only a little saddle work to get a perfect set up. Tone and playability excellent. I have hardly put it down since getting it, my drearnoughts are gathering dust. The packaging for shipment was terrible though. It arrived in an unsealed cardboard box that it could have easily fallen out of. Luckily, it arrived intact.I would recommend this guitar for anyone looking for good value for reasonable price.

I did a lot of research before purchasing this guitar, and the reviews were spot on: it's a great guitar at this price, but be prepared to have it set up properly. The action was very high and the intonation off a bit. I'm not good at adjusting acoustics, so I took it to my favorite guitar guy. $40.00 later it plays great. My guitar guy raved about the build quality and sound. Great looking, great sounding small bodied guitar that was made for fingerpicking.
