i own this guitar. it is an awesome classical intsrument. i play classical and flamenco and this guitar does the trick. if you don't have the money to throw at a ramirez and are looking for a guitar with an awesome tone this is the one for you. it has a very rich sound to it. the ceder smells great too ;-). the gear head work great when tuneing. needs "gulpe cover" for flamenco music.great low budget trade off for a ramirez.

I actually purchased this guitar for my brother having lots of doubts about it. It arrived pretty quick, in a solid package. Right at the time I took the guitar in my hands I could tell that's a good one. Washburn is already a well known brand with the quality of the instruments and this guitar is far better from the others in the same price range.Sound is crispy, so it's being much more fun to play flamenco. But even for the finger pick or single string solo tryouts, this guitar sounds decent and loud enough. I used a dean markley pick to transfer sound to an amp and sound was quite well. It has a decent harmonic sound.There's no need to arrange the bridge, strings are at a nice distance even at the cross point so no trouble about going high pitches or buzzing strings.For sure, you will not be hearing this cheap wooden noise instead of a crispy nylon string voice. It is a decent guitar to have.I rated this guitar by considering it's price range as well. But even compared to my Ibanez, this guitar would get at least 4 stars.

Questionable quality control

I am not experienced with classical guitars to give judgement of the sound so I will just do a review of the build quality.My guitar was shipped to Australia and was opened by the Customs.The first thing I noticed was the hole through the protective foam bag on the headstock. Upon unwrapping the bag, I can there is a dent on the head stock where the hole was. The lacquer layer was even cracked. I am not sure whether it was dropped, rubbed against something or what. An impact would not have caused the hole in the bag.The whole guitar is well made, very smooth and even finish throughout EXCEPT for the headstock.The 'inside' areas of the headstock, where are strings are, was not finished properly. It is not sanded down smooth nor lacquered, basically unfinished on the inside. So you see the rough wood, white powder on it.You would not expect this from a guitar that has a MSRP of $449.The one I received also does not have the Washburn logo on the headstock. Some on the forums say the logo was added in the last few years. How old is the "new" guitar I received??Have said all that, the grain on the cedar top is very consistent and close together. Though it is somewhat thin and the lacquer layer seems rather thick compared to my satin finished Seagull S6.Well, if I am not in Australia, I would have returned it for a new one.
