The Yamaha NTX1200R is an impressive guitar, even more impressive when you consider the price. I think that this guitar compares very favorably with the Taylor 814ce-N, which is clearly a professional quality instrument but it also retails for approximately $3K. A few caveats on the NTX1200R, the sides and back are rosewood, pretty dense wood and out of the box the guitar sounds a bit dead, the more you play it, the more it opens up and comes into its own. The stings that it ships with are just okay, would strongly suggest restringing with your favorite string of choice (I like D'Addario EXP nylon strings). Plugged in this guitar sounds great, I play mine through a Marshall AS50D with a very inexpensive ART Tube MP pre-amp (sometimes without and it still sounds great).
