What a pleasant surprise.

I just started teaching myself how to play on a friend's (really nice) guitar, and wanted to get my own. I decided to start out with something cheap because I was worried I wouldn't spend as much time as I thought actually playing. I read all the reviews and was a little terrified of some of the 2 and 3 star ones. 'Strange rattling sounds,' 'painful strings,' and 'a chemical smell' were not things I wanted in my new guitar. Well, she finally arrived and I couldn't have been happier with it. It came really fast. I just got standard shipping and ordered on a Saturday and it was here by Tuesday, which was a nice surprise. I opened the box and surveyed my purchase. The paint job was far from perfect. I got the sunburst paint job and the white line around the base was not even kind of straight... but I almost like that better, gives it some character :). I picked it up and it did have that slight chemical smell that they mentioned, but that went away an hour after having her out of the box and playing her. The strings were completely normal, even of decent quality, my only thought is that perhaps those buyers weren't aware that this is a steel string, which if you're used to nylon could be quite the shock. And let me assure you, the sound is amazing for such a cheap guitar. It's comparable to my the guitar I taught myself on, my friend's fender. Several months later, I am far from being a beginner, and I still am in love with this guitar. She's beautiful, has a great sound, and the strings have more than held up.The only funny thing in my book is that it says it comes with a pick. That does not come with it directly, I was a little disappointed that they forgot to pack a pick with mine, but wasn't going to make a deal out of it. I had completely forgotten about it 3 weeks later when it arrived in a little envelope. I laughed for quite a while about that.TL/DR? It's a great purchase for the price. The paint is a little wonky, but no worries, it looks cooler that way. The sound quality is comparable to Fender acoustic guitars. Don't be worried about the negative reviews, they're not at all correct. Everything is wonderful. Buy it.
