Avant Garde is a beauty!

I've had an Avant Garde since the first run from Japan. I considered it the most beautiful non-cutaway ever built when I saw the original. It is spectacular in person. The grain of the maple back and sides is extraordinary, and the spruce top is nicely bookmatched. There is exceptional definition from string to string, whether chord soloing or playing rhythmn. It is very clear when playing single note solos. It is ver light weight, & the body vibrates beautifully. The neck is very comfortable in the hand. This is a truly great player for the archtop lover. Other musicians complement me on the sound. I had an ebony pickguard made with a Benedetto S-6 humbucker for gigs. This is a guitar that will only get better with time.
