I love seagull guitars. I had an s6 before buying this one,and bought it sight unseen knowing the quality they put in to their guitars. I went with the mosaic rather than the studio simply because I love the sound of cedar. Its not quite as bright as spruce with rosewood (this one is solid cedar top with solid mahogany sides and back), but much warmer. It has a played in sound right from the get go. I had a professional set up done (around $75) and I swear this item plays and sounds as good as ANY $3000 guitar I have ever played. Its amazing. Mine has the electronics and they do wonders. If yourlooking for a professional quality guitar at a fraction of the price, get a seagull. The artist line is their top of the line but you wont go wrong with ANY seagull.

I mean this from the bottom of my heart. Short story: I was always into BRAND as a guitar player. When I first started playing, it was super important that I had a good Brand Name guitar, so I bought a Fender Acoustic. Big mistake. It was junk - as any good player would know. I then switched to Ibanez because it was somewhat of a good name, just to bide my time until I could afford something REALLY nice. Finally, I was making good money and bought my very first Martin. WHAT A DAY!!! As any good player knows, unless you buy a Lloyd LaPlant or a Jim Olson custom made guitar, you're either a Martin or a Taylor player. They are some of the best production guitars around. Ford/Chevy = Martin/Taylor - one or the other.Then one day I was in Rupar Music, downtown Hibbing Minnesota, where Bob Dylan worked and bought his stuff as a kid, and I played a Seagull. My God. I can't believe what I was missing all these years by stubbornly wanting a NAME. First, the sound is amazing - especially in their Cedar top guitars. The S6 was my first 'Gull. I immediately SOLD MY 2 MARTIN GUITARS AND SWITCHED EXCLUSIVELY TO SEAGULL EQUIPMENT. Better value, by FAR. Awesome electronics, the best out there by FAR. If you can swing it, buy the Cedar top Artist series with the Q2 electronics. My second choice is the S6 with the Q1 electronics. If you like a brassier sound, get a spruce top, but you'll love the mellow cedar top sound! I will never own another brand of guitar. Their name might not be as recognizable as Martin, but i'm telling you, you will thank me.
