Martin D41? very close but no cigar

I begin by mentioning that I am a not a professional guitarist, but a player and collector of acoustic guitars since 1974.I own a big collection of acoustic Guitars, Gibsons, Martins, Yamahas, Alvarez Yaari are some names in my collection.I have read couple of reviews about this Guitar on Sweetwater website, praising this guitar; quality in craftsmanship and sound. Spoke to the salesman there; being a customer of Sweetwater for years, they mentioned that this guitar is great and has a great sound + gets the Plek treatment.Price verses quality, he said that this guitar rates among guitars at least twice its price. (I later agreed on that point)Well, I got curious and I bought this Wechter DN-8142. Here is what I got1. The tuners (3 out of 6) are out in their positions due to the strings tension. 1/52. Total inconsistencies in the binding. Look inside the guitar and you will notice that light comes in, showing how far the wood of side and back are away from each other therfore LIGHT goes through, inside the guitar. (I have enclosed pictures with this review). The reason is the plastic binding; quality of the binding is somehow transparent, looking at it from inside the guitar out 2/53. fingerprint on the side which shows its been touched while the guitar was still wet from fresh paint (one spot only). 1/5 Examine the guitar well before buying.4. Again more inconstancy in the binding of the neck where you see that the binding is not 100% smooth with thick paint. 2/55. The abalone inlays are super glued. very nice design though. 3/56. The pins and saddle are made of CHEAP plastic. They look good in a picture but not when you have the guitar in your hands 1/57. One great point here; the guitar sounds great and compares very close to the Martin D28V and any other expensive guitar I own. considering the price I believe no guitar in its price range comes close. 5/58. Playability: The guitar plays very smoothly and compares again to the most expensive guitars in my collection. 5/5When I called Sweetwaters about the cosmetics inconsistencies, they said in writing that this is quite normal as all these guitars arrive from China in these conditions; they do not call them defects. (I believe this is true)The DN-8142 is made in China by people used to mass production and not attentive to details.This is a guitar that also looks like a Martin D41 however falls short in some places. If you have a budget and are looking for a guitar that sounds and plays wonderfully, but fall short on some of the cosmetics, this guitar is definitely a winner and definitely the one you should pick.Again I am just a collector and have no affiliation to any Guitar makers.I posted a similar review at the Sweetwaters site, however it was never published.
