Product Description
When we set out to design the Creekside MCAB-500B Acoustic Bass we had a simple philosophy in mind, build it from the ground up as a superior bass guitar first and foremost. More than just a bass version of the standard Creekside model, the MCAB-500 was created and voiced strictly in the natural bass register. Unplugged the solid Sitka Spruce top and mahogany back and sides work together to make the Creekside Bass boom with deep resonate lows that are always focused and never muddy. Plug in and the tone factor only goes up thanks to the on board Fishman Presys active pre-amp system with volume, 3 band EQ, phase switching and an onboard digital tuner, to make sure that you are always playing in tune. Bass players rejoice! Comes complete with Morgan Monroe heavy duty gig bag!

nice after some tune ups

The pictures and description convinced me to buy this bass. It arrived on time and in good shape. There is no indication of where it is actually made, so I am guessing some big factory offshore somewhere. The construction is solid and accurate. The neck is good. There is no peg for a strap unfortunatly. The finish is very good for the most part. The bag is excellent. It obviously is well built but they stumbled at the end of the process. I don't think they tuned it up and played it because the strings were slack and the bridge needed .080 taken off to get the strings to a good height. The nut is inaccurate and so the spacing off a bit at the top of the strings. The tuner worked fine but when I plugged in I got some nasty crackles and pops indicating a problem in the socket. I pulled the strings, got it out and repaired the wiring.Then it worked fine. I tried to register it for it's lifetime warrenty but their site has not responded. I hope my repairs don't void it. (that's a joke) Maybe I should have sent it back but it plays well and I like it more and more. I think the manufacturer should improve their final quality control. Just PLAY it to start.
