With an extra-deep body, 13-fret neck joint and classic Recording King headstock, this guitar honors both Golden Age film troubadours like Nick Lucas and historic folk singers from the 1960's. The 4-1/2 inches deep body gives it extra projection, the 13-fret neck and bridge placement makes for perfect resonance across all registers, and the 25.4 inches dreadnought scale length gives it added punch and volume.

The only factory 13-fretter on the market
By always skeptical
If you've ever lusted after a 1930's Gibson Nick Lucas L-00 or a Santa Cruz H-13, this will make a nice place holder.It's not as lightly-built as either as those much more expensive guitars, but the tone is nice, and the fit and finish on mine was excellent.I play fingerstyle exclusively -- mostly blues. The wide nut and wide spacing at the bridge make this an excellent finger picker.In theory, the 13-fret join puts the bridge and sound hole in a more optimal location -- more oomph. Not quite the bass boom of a dread, but quite full sounding for a little 00.Likewise, the longer scale should drive the top harder than a shorter scale L-00 clone.The styling is very similar to the lower-cost RNJ-17, which has laminate rosewood back/sides vs the solid mahogany back/sides on this model. The RNJ-17's I've seen also had three-piece necks, while the RNJ-26 has a nicer-looking one-piece neck.Note that unlike the RNJ-25, which has a nitrocellulose finish, the RNJ-26 appears to have a tougher poly finish.Other than the fancy fingerboard inlays, the RNJ-26 has a very simple and clean aesthetic. I like it!
