A wonderful guitar

I've had my Francisco Navarro student flamenco for a week now and can say I am extremely satisfied. The guitar looks very nice, sounds great, and plays pretty well too. I've gad previous flamenco guitars from Yamaha (CG171S) and Cordoba (30F and GK Studio). None of them come close to the overall satisfaction I get from this guitar. Despite the fact that the strings on mine need to be changed it is still quite responsive to the touch and has fantastic bass. The trebles are nice and bright too. But, I think I can improve on this once I swap the strings out with a set of Hannabach Flamenco 827MT strings. Build quality is fantastic too. The frets are smooth and polished, the finish is clean and even, and the solid spruce top has a tight, even grain.My gripes are small and few. First, the action on mine was a bit too high, but I trimmed down the saddle and it's just fine now. Also, and I'm splitting hairs here, I wish it was a tad bit louder. The volume is perfect for practicing though. Which is the point of this guitar anyway. The volume would probably be just fine if you were jamming out with others. It just wouldn't have the ultimate in "cutting" power. Again, once I change the strings out, as noted above, I'll update this portion.UPDATE 21 Feb 2012: I swapped the strings out with D'Addario EJ25B Pro-Arte's and have been playing all day to break the strings in (they're composite, so they need to break in a bit). I take back my comment on the guitar not being loud enough. The new strings turned the volume up a bit. It'll be interesting to see how this guitar sounds with a set of Hannabach Flamenco 827MT strings, but I'll have to wear the current set of strings out first. I am very, very pleased with my purchase.

I could not be happier with this purchase. Experience with the dealer was excellent. I was contacted by the dealer and informed that there would be a 1-2 week delay. I was contacted again when the guitar shipped. It arrived nicely packed, intact, and in its own case. The guitar itself is exactly what I wanted. A student level flemenco guitar. To me this means it is light, has a fast action, is easy to play, and sounds like a flemenco guitar - brassy trebles, solid base, some tonal complexity, and some ability to shape the tone with technical modifications. This is not a performance guitar, but that is not the price point. Its sound is quite satisfying in my living room, and played informally. I had looked at other flamenco guitars in this price range. This one is superior. Other Guitars I own are a Yamaha GC7 - which this flamenco closely rivals in playability; a Dauphin DS60; and a Kremona Orpheus Valley Fiesta.
