The Mahogany Pattern HPL (high pressure laminate) textured finish also sports a solid Sitka spruce top with hand-rubbed finish for a stylish look, along with a Rust Stratabond neck and Solid Morado or East Indian Rosewood fingerboard. These materials help deliver that Martin sound in a compact and affordable instrument that s perfect for the traveling troubadour. It s also great as a beginning instrument for the small-handed player. Additional appointments include a Black Micarta bridge with compensated Tusq saddle and chrome small-knob tuners. It's little, but it's a Martin

I actually purchased the LX1E from Sam Ash. The electronics (if you use them) are well worth the roughly $50 price increase. I bought this guitar for my son, for his 18th birthday. He will be going off to college next year, and I thought it would make a great dorm guitar. With the travel (he's looking at being around 2,000 miles from) - it seemed like it would be a convenient size.I own two high-end Martins and he usually plays one of them...that he's pretty much claimed as his own, but he admits he would be a little nervous about it in a dorm (at least at first). We test drove the Little Martin and the Baby Taylor. Both are excellent 3/4 size guitars. As most reviews state, we found the Martin to have a warmer tone and the Taylor to have a brighter tone. Both of us prefer what we consider to be the richer tone of the Martin so I went with the Little Martin. The sound for such a small guitar is amazing. The joints, seams and finish are excellent. It looks and feels like a quality instrument. My son loves the action, feel and sound. It has become his guitar of choice - he plays it at church instead of the full-size Martin he was playing. It's also just a lot of fun to play. For the price, the quality and sound is beyond what you would expect.I would recommend this guitar for guitarists who travel, players who are small in stature, and/or those who want a cheaper, but still good-sounding guitar to knock around with.Awesome Kid's Guitar

A lot of child sized guitars look and sound more like toys than serious musical instruments, but the Little Martin is definitely a real guitar that can hold its own against the big boys. It never fails to make me smile when he goes to a gig or open mic night and not only are the older musicians impressed with his talent...they all drool over his guitar too! Due to file size restrictions, I had to reduce the quality of this video quite a bit but hopefully it provides at least a small example of what a Little Martin LX1E can do. With the quality Martin is known for, I know this guitar will last a long time and continue to inspire my son's wildest rock star dreams for many years to come.I play the LX1 and The BT every week at a student's house and..

they both are very pleasing. Little more bass form the martin, but a lower action on the baby taylor. They are both great. I'd seriously be happy with either. :) StacyPS Samick Regency's I looked up were bass guitars, not little 6 strings! What the heck?
