Great buy for the price. Beautiful guitar and solid sound after some tinkering.

I've played guitar for 11 years and have always wanted to try an acoustic-electric. I played my friends Exotica and decided to buy one. A lot of people will say that the sale price (bought mine for $250) makes it a no-brainer. But the guitar itself is worth more than that. It's a stunning guitar aesthetically and feels light and comfortable in your lap or with a strap standing up. Dean guitars are infamous for having VERY low action (the distance between the strings and the fret board is very minimal). This can make it easier for some people to play, but can also result in a buzzing noise due to the strings hitting the frets. However, this is easily adjusted with the handy instruction manual and hex wrench provided with the guitar. You simply adjust the truss rod (see manual) until you get the sound you are looking for. After 20 minutes of tinkering, I had the guitar sounding great. Even plugged in to an electric Fender amp, it sounded phenomenal. Overall, very impressive!

A Great Deal of Adjustment Needed

This guitar looked good. However, there was a lot of buzz in the strings. This was temporarily fixed with a neck adjustment. Sounded okay for a short time (2 days), but has since required 2 more adjustments. Have never had an instument require so much tweeking.

I bought this for my son for Christmas. It sounds great and does all that he wanted it to do. We had looked elsewhere for the same product and they wanted at least $100.00 more. Will buy again.
