Godin A12, best sounding and playing 12 string out there.

I've always enjoyed playing 12 string guitars but a couple common problems I found with most of them was that they didn't stay in tune, and the necks were too thick. After playing a friend's Godin A12 I realized that it had neither of those problems. I shopped around for one on line for a bit and I finally got one on E Bay for about $525. This thing is a beast. It stays in tune, the pickups are very strong and when I play it I don't want to put it down. In the past, I would play a few songs to maybe a half a set with my old 12 strings. Now, I play it sometimes all night. The only negative thing I could possibly think of is that the headstock is a bit heavy so if you aren't holding it while you are standing it teeters down toward the headstock a bit. I am usually either sitting or holding the guitar most of the time so it's really not a problem. I read another review that complained about the sound being too bright but hey, it's a 12 string. They aren't supposed to have a lot of bottom. I highly recommend this guitar.

Godin Disappointment

After owning a wonderful hybrid six string guitar, I have been in love with Godin. This 12 string guitar arrived with visible structural problems (i.e.,two inner braces were visible on the face). Still, I was inclined, with difficulty, to believe the instrument was dropped in transit, although the bottom padding seemed more than adequate. The real hurt was, knowing tuning a 12 string can be trying, I thought this was too tight spacing AND it sounded too tinny! God, I hoped it was my mood, so I put it aside. Sadly, it sounded just as bad the next day. It very hard to criticize Godin, particularly when- out of affection- I still ponder purchasing an Oud.
