Excellent, professional grade instrument

Although it's been awhile, I used to work in the music business, played professionally and taught guitar. I had been out of music for many years but when I retired, decided to pick up a good instrument and spend more time playing. I had originally intended to buy a Martin or Taylor, but since there was a Luna dealer not far from my house, I decided to check them out also. I'm glad I did.There is really no way to describe the sound quality of a guitar and evaluating it is of course, a subjective process. The best I can say is that it generates a solid, resonant sound which immediately identifies it as a top quality instrument. The AMD100 is IMO, as good or better than most guitars I have seen under $1000 and better than some that cost more. After testing the patience of my dealer by trying practically every guitar in the store, I would also say that this model is superior to other Luna models in this price range, or at least that was my perception.Out of the box, the action was setup almost perfectly. I only had to make a very slight neck adjustment to get it right and buzz free. The electronics are better than Fishman IMO, and the tuner is the quickest I have ever seen, to identify the frequency of the note you play.If you want something really good and don't want to spend a thousand dollars, buy this one. I can't imagine how anyone could be disappointed with an AMD100.

A joy to play and a tremendous value

A year ago I was looking for a guitar I could gig with and not worry about being drooled on by drunken bar patrons. I was looking for cheap and serviceable. I didn't expect to be blown away, but I was...and still am a year later. This guitar punches way outside its weight class. Nice feeling neck (medium thickness with a slight V profile), full, balanced sound all the way up the neck, very playable, and I keep coming back to it for the pleasure of playing it. It is very even sounding, and doesn't suffer from excessive lower midrange like some less expensive dreadnaughts. Very responsive to playing dynamics too. This guitar responds very well to strumming, flatpicking and finger picking. I play rock, jazz, folk, bluegrass and more, all with excellent results on this guitar. It has a balanced XLR output. Even the tuner works great.It sounded fine with the coated strings it came with, but it comes alive with an uncoated string (I like Dean Markley Alchemy strings on mine). And while it may seem strange to put expensive strings on a cheap guitar, the only thing cheap about this guitar is the price. Just remarkable. I have no idea how they can sell a quality solid spruce topped dreadnaught for this price. This is the best acoustic guitar bargain I've found in 30+ years of playing.If you play this through a Fishman Aura Spectrum DI (which costs about as much as this guitar) or Aura 16, try the Gibson Songwriter Deluxe image.
