The 12-fret neck joint and corresponding bridge positioning give the RP-06 the warm, mellow, full-bodied tone guitarists look for in a classic 12-fret model. With a 1-3/4 inch nut, the RP-06 is comfortable for either fingerpicking or strumming. The vintage 0-style body is great for travel, stage or couch, and thanks to the 25.4 inch scale, still has the same volume and projection as a full size instrument. The simple, unadorned headstock and the tortoise body binding are integral characteristics of Recording King Classic Series guitars, but don't let the minimal ornamentation fool you, the RP-06 is built by the same artisans who craft our popular ROS-626 instruments. Good Sounding 0-sized Guitar

I'm into smaller guitars, and I find the cheaper ones tend to either sound muffled or overly bright (I don't care for either) and that's why I'm rating the Recording King RP-06 with 5 stars. Love the 1 3/4" nut (a good size for fingerstyle and picking), and I like the rounded neck, which is rare on parlors that often have a V neck. While experienced players might detect a hint of the laminate back and sides in the tone, it's still better than others in its size and class. It has plenty of bass, a pretty clean sound and feels great. It is a little deeper than your standard Martin 0-sized guitar, so if you're looking for something 4" or shallower, I suggest you pass on this one. But it's amazing bang for the buck, and if you're looking for a beater or low-cost parlor, this is definitely the one to try.

I did not buy from Amazon.com; I purchased mine from my local dealer.I bought this guitar on a whim while trying to find a good "travel" guitar and I succeeded in not only finding a great travel guitar but a great guitar. Period. I've owned all the usual travel guitar suspects and this RK is a real guitar with a full-size scale, fantastic construction, and a great sound. And yes, it fits in the overhead bin of commercial aircraft. I've traveled internationally with mine as carry-on luggage with no issues and minimal hassle.I am a fan of Recording King instruments. I own three.This is a fantastic, affordable guitar which is full of pleasant surprises for those looking for a small-body guitar. Get one and get back to playing!
